Wonder
Silence
Mr Rogers is right.
We do need a lot more wonder and a lot more silence in our lives.
How do you do that? I recommend start with baby steps.
Instead of Netflix or the nightly news, unplug from it and try solitude.
Take time for solitude amid busy times and season
Solitude can offer a wide range of benefits for individuals. Here are 10 advantages of spending time in solitude:
Self-Reflection: Solitude provides a space for deep self-reflection, allowing you to better understand your thoughts, feelings, and desires.
Enhanced Creativity: Solitude can spark creativity, as it provides a peaceful environment for brainstorming and innovative thinking.
Stress Reduction: It offers a break from the demands of social interactions and can reduce stress levels by promoting relaxation and calm.
Improved Concentration: Solitude allows for improved focus and concentration on tasks without the distractions of social interactions.
Enhanced Problem Solving: Solitude enables you to think critically and work through complex problems or decisions without external influences.
Personal Growth: Time alone can foster personal growth, self-discovery, and self-improvement, helping you become a better version of yourself.
Emotional Regulation: Solitude provides an opportunity to manage and regulate your emotions, which can lead to increased emotional intelligence.
Rejuvenation: It offers a chance to rest and recharge, helping you feel more refreshed and energized.
Independence: Solitude encourages independence and self-sufficiency, as you learn to rely on yourself for companionship and support.
Enhanced Relationships: Paradoxically, spending time alone can lead to more fulfilling and meaningful social connections. Solitude helps you appreciate the value of relationships and the importance of quality over quantity.
What can you do with your solitude time?
Journaling is a practice you can try. It’s a great way to get in touch with your inner thoughts and world.
