In the silence we listen to ourselves. Then we ask questions of ourselves. We describe ourselves, and in the quietude we may even hear the voice of God.
Maya Angelou (1928-2014). American poet.
Silence shows up in solitude.
What, exactly, is the value of that?
Quite simply, it allows us to connect with our inner selves.
In a deep, honest and self-reflective way.
Silence is powerful.
It can teach us many powerful lessons if we allow it.
Silence is also bliss.
Many good things can come out of it.
In silent solitude, you can learn about yourself more.
Your thoughts, your fears, the desires of your heart.
You become more self aware.
While silent solitude can bring about many benefits, it can also bring about heavy feelings.
How are you with difficult feelings and emotions?
If we face them bravely and don’t run away from them, we can transform those unpleasant feelings and emotions toward something positive.
How?
By creating something.
This piece by ee cummings (Youtube clip above) illustrates the point.
Below is my personal digital creation of it.
Solitude can be lonely.
But it can also be the fertile ground for creative expressions.
In other words, solitude can be very self-healing.
What would you create?
I hope you take time to pen and paint your world with color.

Solitude is a gift that helps us conserve our precious human energy.
It is sanctuary time for our souls to restore, reset and create new possibilities!
