It’s a historic and culturally significant city for Christian pilgrims who follow the Camino de Santiago routes, as it is believed to be the burial place of Saint James the Great, one of the apostles of Jesus Christ. The Camino de Santiago is a popular pilgrimage route, and there are several different routes that pilgrims can take to reach Santiago de Compostela, with the most famous one being the Camino Francés.
